As a local business, one of the most important things you need is social proof – something that shows potential clients that you’re the right company to work with. Google Reviews (part of the Google My Business listing) are a great way to highlight the quality of your work in the blink of an eye!

I’m sure you’ve seen the 5 star (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) reviews in the Google search results when you’re looking for a local service.

Some companies seem to have hundreds of them, others might have none. The reason? The company with no reviews probably doesn’t ask their clients and customers for a review.

It used to a bit of an ask to get a Google review from someone.

  1. Make sure they’re happy with the service you provided.
  2. Ask them if they’re willing to leave you a favourable review on Google.
  3. Tell them to Google your business name.
  4. Tell them to click on the 3-pack results, or if that doesn’t show up, ask them if it might be on the side somewhere.
  5. Tell them to click on the review link and login to their Google account if they have one.
  6. Tell them to leave a review.

Doesn’t this all sound like a bit of work for the client? Especially when your business doesn’t show up right away, and they have to try a few different searches before you show up. This can be a frustrating experience for them and so a lot of business owners don’t even bother – understandably.

So we got thinking. What if there’s an easy way for the client to leave you a review in a single click? Well, good news! There IS indeed a much faster and easier way to get that treasured 5 star review on your Google listing from that happy client.

The secret is to catch them at the right moment – that point when they have just seen the outcome of your service and they’re happy with the end result. Don’t wait a few days to send an email asking for that review as they’ve already forgotten how happy they were. Ask them right away!

So, now that we know the timing – here’s the method.

  1. Open up the camera app on your smartphone and point it at this QR code.
  2. Tap the link that pops up and write your review on the spot!

No need to go searching for the Google My Business page, no need to click through a few times to get to the review section or login to Google, but straight to the review screen where they can tap those 5 stars and leave a few words.

So how do you create these QR codes and what do you do with them? We can help you there with our Google Local SEO services.

Try this one! Point your phone camera, tap the link and you’ll get taken straight to our Contact page (I didn’t add the Google Review link because I only use that for A1 clients.

We design the QR codes with dynamic links (this means you can change the link that shows up at any time) and get them printed on stickers that you can stick on the back of your phone, iPad, clipboard, whatever works for you. Once you’ve completed the job for your client, just ask them to scan the code and leave the review – that’s it.

If you want to get a set of stickers done for your business, shoot us an email here, or message us on Twitter.
